Week 51: WoW update

  • Dec. 28th, 2008 at 11:00 PM
Name - Level - Race - (Main Talent) Class - Profession(s) - Server
(1) Gamuza - Level 34 - Male Tauren - Feral Druid  - Enchanting - Dentarg
(2) Kamuza - Level 25 - Male Tauren - Enchancement Shaman - None - Talnivarr
(3) Wartija - Level 23 - Male Blood Elf - Protection Paladin - Mining & Blacksmithing - Talnivarr (+12 levels)

The only progress I did this week was with my non-raf Paladin. Which I am going to raf with the my friend's hunter instead of the shaman. I tanked three times today for the very first time in my whole WoW career and it was quite fun. I'd also perceive myself as a good tank. Level 21 Protection Paladin, top of the dps (43% of the total damage done, next one had 25%), no one died and I lost aggro on one single mob two times (each time the same fucking hunter >_>). When I told this in guild chat one of the main tanks in the guild was pretty much amazed. Apparently at level 21 finishing off Shadowfang Keep without a single wipe/death is worthy of "good job". I'm happy. ^_^

Planning on doing some druid boosting on the evening since my raf is able to play again. I will update it if it changes before 24:00.

I saw a dream about PFUASB. No, seriously. I saw a dream about PFUASB being reincarnated by someone to a higher glory than its former self by someone named "Asura". (The only member with a similiar username that I remember is Asukura, and yeah, lol) Anyway, everyone was back, even Sleepy Wombat and some members none of you newer vets remember (Eenaito, Jay, Metalakafable). Someone held a similiar shop from TCoD where they sold different equipment, like armor and weapons to add defense or attack. Even Jax was back and she promised to be an administrator if she were given necessary rights (i.e. being able to appoint other administrators). There were some crazy pictures in every thread, like a monster Pikachu similiar to Godzilla with drool dripping down its body and under it read "P-P-Pikachu?".

Oh, oh, and I think Nova had level 52 Treecko which he refused to evolve and used to smite noobies.

What the gently caress?

I received this message into my YouTube account's folder late today.

"I saw your message on You tube concerning some fact from the demo of FF XIII and the versus/agito edition. In case you actually played the demo, reread the contract you singed before doing any other contract, I'll make sure people like you dont srew the work of the developping team by spoiling any information.

In case you didnt played the demo, just take it chill, the game will comes on april 14th or maybe later depending where you are ^^. Ill check out the with the beta testers to see if I can get acess to your profile to know what kind of trick your gonna pull out later, but take notes I ain't joking about the contract and you probably dont have the cash to pay the fee if we from SE sue you ok.

E. Novak"

I shit you not. The comments I've written can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH7p7V5OM8k. This is what I wrote back to Mr. Novak. In short, I told him to gently caress himself.

"God I lol'd so hard I got teary eyed.

Please, show me what I said that somehow implied you that I have been a beta tester for the game in question. Really, I'm interested to know. If you had taken your time you might've actually noticed it was nothing but an argument over what aspects of the game can be determined from the trailer of the game. I didn't attempt to discuss any of the characters, the plot, the features of the game and whatnot at any point in the discussion. I have not intended to play or even buy either of the games in question nor do I intend to buy either of the consoles in question.

Thanks for the laughs though. I'm sure you'll make it into my livejournal entry for mockery amongst my friends. *thumbs up*

P.S. Unless you didn't figure it out just yet, I have never played the demo of this game."

Incredibly stupid poo poo, I know. Feel free to /point and /laugh. And yes, I too doubt this use is really Mr.Novak working for Square Enix. The message is incredibly badly formatted and written. A company representative should have a better grasp of the English language than this. Or did SE already make cuts with the staff's training considering the current and future financial state? (BTW, did anyone else instantly thought of "IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE!" line with the "SE" abbreviation?) Don't you just love that "you probably dont have the cash to pay the fee if we from SE sue you ok." line. I don't know what to say, really. That's just loving stupid.

Yes, I forgot to do this on Sunday so yes, I'm doing it now. Update on the current status of my characters.

Name - Level - Race - (Main Talent) Class - Profession(s) - Server
(1) Gamuza - Level 34 - Tauren - Feral Druid  - Enchanting - Dentarg  (+16 levels)
(2) Kamuza - Level 25 - Tauren - Enchancement Shaman - None - Talnivarr (+1 level)
(3) Wartija - Level 11 - Blood Elf - Protection Paladin - Mining & Blacksmithing - Talnivarr (+5 levels)

Once I hit 40 on my Druid I can use the "Grant a Level" feature of the recruit-a-friend to instantly zoom to level 60. Of course this comes with one big issue. My gear is already outdated on my current level. I will be able to upgrade it fast since I have access to Outlands at level 58, but that region is much more difficult than Azeroth. I hope there are some good greens/blues at a reasonable price at the Auction House.

Also, Happy Christmas, everyone!

World of Warcraft

  • Dec. 19th, 2008 at 12:58 AM
So, after the fun fun moments with Blizzard I decided with my friend that he uses recruit-a-friend feature to recruit me again into the game and I'll start from scratch. The plus side is three times experience from both monsters and quest rewards. Which is, by the way, pretty insane. Those who know me I'm the sort of person who cannot make his mind on which class to focus on. I've had a good share of playing a mage and a warlock at the 70's end game content. I adored warlocks, but they were so horribly raped in the newest expansion that I lost all my interest playing the class. Its only real purpose is Player vs. Enviroment where you have to maintain the most difficult spell rotation[1] in the game at the moment.

Anyway, due to my guild in Talnivarr being a casual PvP/PvE guild I noticed they are completely missing a Shaman from the roster. In order to help my guild (and get a guaranteed raid spot *cough*) I made a Shaman and as terribly underpowered I thought they were they are actually quite fun to play. They have also been buffed[2] in the recent expansion. Mostly just the healing aspect of them, the Restoration talent tree.

So me and my friend worked out the best way to use the 3x experience boost. At the moment my current status are:

Name - Level - Race - Class - Talents - Profession(s) - Server
(1) Kamuza - Level 24 - Tauren - Shaman - 0 / 15 / 0 - None - Talnivarr
(2) Gamuza - Level 18 - Tauren - Druid - 0 / 9 / 0 - Enchanting - Dentarg

I do have gazillion alts. Actually I've made an alt of every class (except the Death Knight which requires an already excisting level 55 character). Not sure if I will level them all to 80, but I know I definetly can't focus on them all. Maybe I'll just eventually get around leveling them when I get bored. Currently I'm not listing anything below level 10. I'm going to update the list every Sunday from now on to see how I progress with each character.

[1] Spell Rotation means a specific order of spells that one uses to fight end dungeon bosses and mini-bosses and any regular encounter with mobs that are not clustered for some Area of Effect clusterfest. The rotation itself may vary from mob to mob depending if they become resistant or immune to certain aspect of the spell in the rotation or competely immune to it to begin with. The Warlock spell rotation consists of Corruption, Curse of Agony, Unstable Affliction, Immolation and Siphon Life as the damage-over-time spells which have various durations. In addition the Warlock has to Life Tap every now and then to transfer health into mana as they have the worst mana management in the game (but that's why they have Life Tap), while also refreshing Haunt (which is another damage-over-time type of spell that also enchances the effect of the damage-over-time spells on the target) and launching Shadow Bolt or Conflagarate (both Direct Damage spells) to maximise dps. They have to refresh the DoTs with near perfect timing or otherwise they drop from being competitive to semi-competitive. Not all classes have a specific spell rotation. For example priests, as their spells vary depending on the situation. Do they need a fast weaker heal to save a situation or do they have to anticipate a big incoming BOOM! and start casting a longer cast time spell whose effects are much stronger.

[b] Buff means making something stronger. This may refer to a class or race as awhole or a combination of talents/abilities/glyphs etc. Nerf is the exact opposite effect.

Finnish Professional Latin Championships

  • Dec. 19th, 2008 at 12:29 AM

Sometimes I really wonder where the f do the judges look at in competitions. Granted, I figured out the reason why my favourite of these two doesn't make past the second round while the other who, in my opinion (and a lot of professional judge's opinion), actually think they are quite awful. In the partnership there's a really strong girl and a good male dancer, but who can't keep his energy up past the one minute milestone. This is really their downfall in big competitions when the judges first mark the couples they recognise and stand-out, so they really view only the latter half of this couple's coreography. The girl is so ridiculously good she's actually the best dancer in her heat in that video, and there are two European finalists and semi-finalists in their heat. And trust me, no one even comes close. Technically she's just that superb and she's so clean. I have to add that I do like her style as well. It all sort of comes together.

Oh, yes, the whole reason to this rant is that despite all reasons pointing to my favourite couple as the clear champions, somehow the other couple won it this year. It's pretty sad because I can't even look at the other couple without loling. I'm not kidding.

Which one is it?

(This one doesn't show the couple immediately. But it's supposed to be the one with the lady wearing long yellow dress with black base, with short black curly hair. )

Those who guess right receive a cookie and a glass of cold milk to honor Christmas. Do tell me if those links don't work so I will upload them on YouTube.

Arguing Fools

  • Oct. 13th, 2008 at 12:18 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28cz81JmVjo

There I had this very intelligent and fruitful conversation with user georgewu5. I haven't bothered to reply to his latest stupidity yet, because YouTube accepts only 400 character responses and I haven't bothered. Well, here we go:

That's it. The gloves are off.

"I heard a lot of the young people took alcohol and drugs in Finland, something to do with the long nights and short days?"

This somehow has anything do with the topic at hand? You have a very ugly habit of straying off topic. Then again, with the lack of substance in your argument and the stupidity to not understand when you've lost makes you form flawed arguments and divert the attention from the real subject.

"I hope you young people over there enjoy more of ballroom dancing instead using your 2 millions hunting rifles to kill innocent people in Finland!"

Get your facts straight. No hunting rifles were used in either Jokela's or Kauhajoki's incident.

It's quite ironic for an American to jump on a moral high horse considering school shootings and violence when you're still the leading country in the number of guns and murders commited using a gun. Even if it's in relation to the number of people. Oh, yeah. What's the number of civilian casualties in Iraq again?

I talk to you because you sounded like a potential killer-

May I see your degree in psychology? Because your knowledge is certainly lacking. Anger hardly equals killer material. Pent up anger, now that's we're getting somewhere with. Too bad I have my channels to vent it out. Like to a clueless fool such as yourself, dear georgwu5. You might also want to take some courses in literature to improve your ability to analyse text and its content. Right now you're distorting the tone and context of my text. No doubt to get yourself to play the role of the victim.

"Why are you so angry and mean when all I write is utter crap and you just point out that I'm wrong? Is it possible I'm just having an incredibly thin skin and my ego is fragile?"

While you're at it take a crash course of argumentating 101. Your knowledge in that area is non-existent.

You might be unaware of the fact that some of _my_ friends and some my friends' closest friends go to that school and I've gone to the high school in that particular city. Moreover, my mother happened to participate in a course held in that city today. Your ad hominem attack (which still doesn't make you have any substance in your arguments) hits home. Congratulations. You've sunken into a new level of low.

as I said before You are a very angry 20 years old young man!---

This is just the icing of the cake of irony. You're (or at least claim to be) 71-year-old and an age racist. You clutch on to my age as if it somehow made my arguments any less valid. I sincerely hope you're meeting plenty of that in your life as you deserve it.

As a summary, you're an uneducated clueless and ignorant idiot standing on the shining horse that is known as hypocrisy. Your ad hominem attacks have certainly sunken you to the level of a lowlife maggot. Go back to stroking egos of the ones who have already established their position in the world. That's all you're good for.

P.S. The funny part is that I wasn't even remotely angry before this latest piece of horseshit.

What I find it incredibly funny that he thinks he has found the big secret between international latin and standard.

"Been wondering why the International Latin dancers could NEVER do the International Standard and vice versa?! I have found my answers to this question through my analytical break-down of techniques of each and understood why Marcus was such a terrible Latin dancer and no one ever saw Donnie ever danced a Foxtrot before! May I use the simpliest way to point out the difference? Latin always use the toe first; as Standard use the heel first very often! It is a blanket statement!---dancewu(dot)net"

May I tell you that this is taught to the kids who are just beginning dancing in the first few weeks.

With his awesome analytical abilities he has somehow managed to ignore the glaring differences between standard and latin, for example, there is no rise and fall in latin on any dances, there's no static frame and the mechanics of lead and follow are largely different.

By the way, latin doesn't always use the heel first. There's at least one exception in samba which uses heel first step. Then again, it sounds like you have never heard of Paso Doble's correct footwork either.

He's also beautifully discrediting all the succesfull 10-dancers in the history. I.e. Marat Gimaev - Alina Bassiouk, Christpher Kies - Bianca Ribas-Turon, Andrei Zaitsev - Anna Kuzminskaya, Timur Imametdinov - Ekaterina Nikoaleva, Misa Cigoj - Anastasia Novozilova/Alexandra Malaj, Alexei Silde - Anna Firstova. There are plenty of more who I don't remember just now and I really don't have the time to type all their names down.

This is all I can bother with this person who's really just wasting the oxygen in the air.

New Journal!

  • Oct. 6th, 2008 at 12:14 AM

So, with new beginnings I thought I'd scrap the previous livejournal of failure that is ransotengan. I'll update this far more often as I actually plan to use this one.
